I’m Alec Moreno, co-owner of Compass Counseling, and I’m passionate about helping adults and teens who are navigating severe depression, anxiety, trauma, OCD, to find real relief and lasting peace. Drawing from my own ten-year journey with OCD as a teenager and young adult, I bring a deeply personal understanding to our work together. My approach is clinical and analytical, yet warmly supportive and strength-based — grounded in 11 years of practice with radical acceptance, trauma-informed care, and evidence-based methods like CBT, EMDR, and ERP.

Katie Moreno

I’m Katie Moreno, co-owner of Compass Counseling, and I’m driven towards supporting adults and teenagers as they navigate depression, anxiety, trauma, and stress. With 9 years of experience, training in CBT, CPT, TFCBT, and DBT, as well as my background as a Clinical Supervisor and Adjunct Professor of Psychology at NSU, I bring both clinical depth and a person-centered approach to our work. My style is empathetic and supportive while gently challenging and reflective — always trauma-informed and focused on your unique strengths and goals.

My background as a community liaison across schools, nursing facilities, and home-based care gives me a broad, practical perspective that helps clients create meaningful, lasting change.

I also specialize in helping fellow veterans with trauma recovery and deprogramming. My approach is grounded in real-world understanding, practical tools, and a steady, compassionate presence that meets you where you are.
